Hamilton police have identified a man left fighting for his life after a hit and run accident by taking fingerprints from him in hospital.
The 26-year-old, who will not be named until his family have been contacted, suffered head injuries when he was struck by a car on Ulster St about 2.40am on Sunday.
Two women, who have admitted driving the car which hit the man, came forward around 90 minutes after the accident and have been interviewed by police.
