The police have charged a 41-year-old man with murder following a hit-and-run incident in Christchurch today where a man died. Police closed Four Elms Place after the man was struck by the car about 8.30am.
The accused will appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow. A resident said they heard a dispute before a man was struck by a car.
A resident told the Herald they had heard people arguing this morning.
Neighbours outside the cordon said the street was usually a very quiet area - and "nothing bad happens around here".
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter, but would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
