Ex-All Black faces drink-driving charges

Former All Black Jeremy Stanley will face drink-driving charges after an early morning crash in Dunedin.

Stanley, 27, a doctor, was driving a Ford Falcon car borrowed from Otago All Black Simon Maling while Maling was in Auckland with the Highlanders rugby team.

Stanley was alone when the car is believed to have struck a parked car and power pole on Thursday.

A police spokesman would say only that a 27-year-old man was processed for drink-driving after the accident and would face charges.

Dunedin lawyer Warren Alcock, who represents Stanley, confirmed that the former All Black was involved, but he was not aware of the drink driving charge.
