Englishman plans to push wheelbarrow around NZ for charity

Englishman Harry Townsend plans to push a wheelbarrow around New Zealand to raise money for melanoma research.

He will start walking from Wellington on February 17 and hopes to reach Cape Reinga on April 30. He will take time out to push his wheelbarrow in the Auckland Round The Bays Run on March 14.

The wheelbarrow will carry a sleeping bag, tent and packets of a specially produced sweet pea, Myfanwy Townsend, which he will sell to raise funds.

Mr Townsend, whose wife Myfanwy died from melanoma in 1999, has already raised thousands of dollars for English cancer-melanoma research.
