Two large blazes broke out in Auckland in the early hours of the morning.
The Fire Service was called to the East Coast Bays RSA on Bute Rd at 3am this morning, Fire Service shift manager Jaron Phillips said.
The building was "well engulfed" in fire when the team got there, he said.
An automatic fire alarm was triggered and the fire was discovered at the rear of the building.

The single-storey building was used for car storage and repair, Mr Phillips said.
A hazardous materials unit had to set up for decontamination because there was asbestos in the building, he said.
Five fire crews were decontaminated at the incident this morning.
Both fires have been extinguished and there is a team of special fire investigators at each.
The cause of each fire is not yet known but they are not being treated as suspicious.
