If you're in the mood for a Guinness served by leprechauns to celebrate St Patrick's Day today, then the Joxer Daly's street party is the place for you.
Owner John Cavaney has gone all-out for the holiday this year, with the pub being decorated in everything green, including a jacket from a member of the Irish shearing team, which competed in the Golden Shears recently. Mr Cavaney said preparations had been going on for four months for the only Irish bar in Masterton.
Masterton District Council has given permission for Perry St outside the pub to be closed from 2pm and Mr Caveney is counting down the hours.
"It's our biggest day of the year. I'm really looking forward to this one," he said.
Celebrations start with breakfast at 11am today and the pub is bracing itself with extra staff on hand to manage the crowd.
