Critical injuries after man stabbed in Favona, Auckland

A 21-year-old man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in the chest in the Auckland suburb of Favona.

Police attended the incident in Gadsby Rd, Favona, shortly before midnight on Saturday.

The victim had received a serious stab wound to the chest and was now recovering from surgery.

St John said they were also called to the address, near Mangere.

The injured man was rushed to Middlemore Hospital, where he remained overnight.
