Christchurch murder victim killed with blunt instrument

Christchurch police say murder victim Kenneth Moore was killed with a blunt instrument.

An autopsy was carried out on the father of four yesterday after his body was found at his Waltham home on Sunday afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Murton says the post-mortem shows a blunt instrument was used to kill the 65-year-old but won't say what type of weapon was used.

He says police expect to complete their forensic investigation of Mr Moore's home tomorrow.

A 25-year-old man, who's known to Mr Moore, is charged with his murder and will next appear in court later this month.
