Refugees have left Christchurch in their droves.
Around 230 people from places like Ethiopia, Somalia and Afghanistan who were living in Christchurch when the quake struck arrived at Whenuapai Air Force base yesterday.
The organisation Refugees as Survivors is helping them out.
Chief executive Gary Poole says some of their houses are quake-damaged.
He says they've left in large numbers and aren't intending to return to Christchurch in the immediate future.
Mr Poole says his organisation's working with Immigration to determine the next step.
