Justice Ministry chief executive and Secretary for Justice Belinda Clark has been confirmed as chief executive of the merged ministry and Courts Department.
State Services Commissioner Michael Wintringham said today the Government had announced earlier this year that a new Justice Ministry would be formed by the merger of Courts into the existing ministry to improve the links between policy and operations.
Ms Clark is chief executive of the existing ministry and Secretary for Justice and has also been acting chief executive of Courts since March.
Mr Wintringham said as ministry chief executive Ms Clark had improved performance and capability and won respect for her leadership of the justice sector.
Ms Clark will take up the appointment on October 1 when the department and ministry merge.
