The Wai Art Awards in Carterton wrapped up on Sunday with the announcement of the People's Choice Award winner Max Baylis with his painting Resting with Friends on the way Home.
From the 102 artworks exhibited, 13 were sold and just under 1000 people visited the exhibition in two weeks.
Anna-Marie Kingsley said she and her fellow organisers were "delighted with the public's response to the exhibition and with the volunteer help we've received from the Wai Art group".
"There is a bunch of around 30 very enthusiastic and capable volunteers who help with everything from receiving days to manning the exhibition to packing it all up at the end," she said. "It's a huge job and we couldn't do it without the enormous amount of help they provide."
The next Wai Art exhibition is the Big Wai Art Sale held during Carterton's Daffodil Carnival weekend. In December, Wai Art will host a Salon de Refuse at the new Carterton Civic Centre in conjunction with Aratoi's Wairarapa Review.
