The Mangatutu Hot Springs are at the end of Puketitiri Rd, a gravel road on the edge of Kaweka Forest Park.
It takes an hour or more to drive to the remote springs, with vehicles having to ford a river on the way.
The Department of Conservation owns a free campsite near the hot springs. It's a popular spot for picnics and trout fishing as well as a starting point for hikes in the forest.
