The skipper of a boat which began taking on water after hitting rocks near Bluff this morning has managed to steer the vessel to safety.
The Capricorn 2, with three people on board, hit rocks around 10.15am while at sea in an area behind Bluff Hill.
The skipper of the 12.43-metre long fishing vessel managed to navigate the boat into Bluff Harbour and pulled up alongside port.
From there the Southport vessel Takitimu and vessel The Real McCoy assisted with the Bluff Fire Service in pumping the excess water off the boat.
