British police have questioned Batman star Christian Bale about assault allegations made by his own mother and sister.
Bale, who stars in the latest Batman flick The Dark Knight, is alleged to have lashed out on Sunday at London's upmarket Dorchester Hotel, where he has a suite, Britain'sSun newspaper reports.
Police allowed Bale to attend Monday night's British premiere of the film, in which he stars alongside the late Australian actor Heath Ledger.
The Sun said Bale's mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, contacted police on Monday to lodge a complaint.
The matter is being investigated by London's Metropolitan Police, the paper says.
At the film premiere, Bale paid tribute to Ledger, 28, who died in January from an accidental overdose.
"He did an incredible job with The Joker ... I enjoyed watching him perform," the BBC quoted him as saying.
Ledger brought an anarchic, Clockwork Orange element to the role, Bale said.
