Armed robbers take cash from ten-pin bowling centre

Police were today examining the scene at a ten-pin bowling centre on Auckland's North Shore, where two armed men made off with an unknown amount of cash last night.

The robbery in Link Dr, Glenfield, happened about 10.40pm, when the pair entered the centre carrying pistols and threatened staff.

Detective Jason Lunjevich said the offenders, described as being of average build and wearing hooded sweatshirts, left in a white Toyota Corolla sedan, which was located nearby.

He said the amount of money taken was still being established.

The bowling centre is near a Hoyts cinema complex and Mr Lunjevich said anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Link Dr area or the offenders' getaway car should contact Takapuna police.
