A 5-year-old girl has been flown to Starship with serious head injuries tonight.
The girl was originally taken to the Coast to Coast Health Centre in Wellsford.
A St John spokesman said the service was alerted at 4.57pm and the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to transfer her to
Starship.
A helicopter spokesman said the girl had been bumped into by another child, fell backwards and hit her head.
She did not have any open wounds, but was displaying "worrying" signs of a head injury, he said.
