The 2-year-old hit by a car after he ran out onto Mt Eden Rd is recovering from his injuries and is now stable.
The toddler was taken to Starship Hospital in a critical condition after he was hit by the car on Tuesday. He suffered serious injuries but has since improved.
His grandmother was also hit by the car as she tried to stop the little boy from running onto the road.
She suffered broken bones and grazes and is still in Auckland Hospital, also in a stable condition.

The pair were leaving a playgroup run by the St Barnabas Anglican Church when they crash happened.
Police are investigating but it is unlikely anyone will face charges.
