The only gay resident on the BBC's Castaway island has quit the show.
Trainee psychotherapist Ron Copsey said he decided to leave the Hebridean island of Taransay, where the $6.7 million series is being filmed, because of "personality clashes" and "inflated egos" among participants in the programme.
Copsey, 43, from Middlesex, is understood to have been unhappy with the strict regime imposed by the other castaways, complaining that it was at odds with his more relaxed attitude.
His temper tantrums have been a highlight of the show and are said to be one of the reasons for its high viewing figures.
