Return of the video game that became a movie franchise. Angelina Jolie again plays the pixillated heroine Lara Croft, who is tasked with stopping an evil doctor, Jonathan Reiss (Ciar·n Hinds), from uncorking the gene genie and (yawn here) taking over the world.
To help
her Lara has her love interest, Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), and an open-ended air ticket to Greece, Tanzania, Kenya, China and Hong Kong.
It's a safe bet that this makes "Game Over" for the movie end of the franchise.
The DVD comes with an impressive 5.1 sound mix, several hours of De Bont's innermost cinematographic secrets and five features based around the making of the movie.
The deleted and alternate scenes are interesting for those who appreciate fight scenes: this is twice as long as the one in the movie.
As you might expect, there's plenty of DVD-ROM material to access, too.
