Tony (Jonathan Lipnicki, the kid from Jerry Maguire and Stuart Little) is not too impressed that he's had to move from San Diego to Scotland because his dad (Tommy Hinkley) is building a golf course for Lord McAshton (John Wood).
Until one night when a
bat flies into his bedroom fireplace and turns into a boy named Rudolph (Rollo Weeks). Rudy takes Tony on a flight to visit his vampire family, which has been in hibernation for 300 years, waiting for a comet to cross the moon and send a beam of light to a magic amulet.
Unfortunately, Rudy's dad (Richard E. Grant) has only half the amulet and there's a vampire hunter, Rookery (Jim Carter), on the prowl.
The vampires, all of whom are vegetarian except the father, want to become human again.
Recommended audience is around about the Harry Potter age group.
