Roy (Nicolas Cage) has a problem. One is the cops who are out to get him because he's a conman. Two is the long-gone teenage daughter who turns up and starts to rearrange his carefully compiled life. Three is those damned bugs in the
air. Roy is obsessive-compulsive, and they're out to get him, too.
Cage and director Ridley Scott combine in a comedy-thriller that comes very close to hitting the mark but cops out in the last few frames. The DVD features Scott in a similarly obsessive mode on the commentary track, an interesting Making Of ... that features details from Cage's costume tests, Scott sourcing and sorting his cast on videotape and more.
