Daffy and Bugs Bunny are about to co-star in yet another movie and Daffy wants equal pay with the big-eared, buck-toothed star. Kate Houghton (Jenna Elfman), the studio exec in charge of animated characters, says research shows Daffy's fan demographic "is angry
fat
guys in basements". Daffy throws a tanty, DJ Drake (Brendan Fraser), the stuntman and security guard, is called to throw him out. Big mistake.
DJ and Daffy team up, Daffy learns that his new pal's dad is Damien Drake, star of Warner's spy movies, and maybe a spy in real life. Kate and Bugs realise they need the duck to make the movie work.
Everyone hightails it to Vegas, where they will get into trouble with the Acme megacorporation (CEO: Steve Martin), meet dad and the new Q (Joan Cusack) and her inventions. The story and the 'toons will soon leap to Paris, where they will chase in and out of the paintings in the Louvre, and from there to outer space.
Probably because it was a box-office flop little effort has been put into the DVD presentation, apart from some behind-the-scenes features on the special effects, deleted scenes and an alternative ending (all ditched after poor response at test screenings), and a new Roadrunner and Coyote short. Fair to say, though, that the movie does look great in 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer and remarkable Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound.
