After years of terrible taste when it comes to musical partnerships - metaller Kip Winger, wrinkly Rod Stewart, laughing loon Robbie Williams - Rachel Hunter might finally be coming to her senses.
American alt-rockers Fountains of Wayne have shot a video for their new single Stacy's Mum, a hormone-addled youth's fantasies
about an older woman - starring our very own Miss Glenfield as the pole-dancing Hot Mom from every spotty boy's dream.
"It's sort of about that period when you're first hitting puberty and suddenly everybody of the opposite sex is strangely attractive," says Fountains of Wayne guitarist Adam Schlesinger. Schlesinger describes the clip as "a fairly literal and yet very over-the-top interpretation of the song".
Reality blends with fantasy, as Hunter is shown pole dancing in the kitchen wearing an S&M outfit and crawling across the countertops. The clip even recreates the classic scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, in which Phoebe Cates emerges soaking wet from the pool and seductively sheds her bikini top.
LOVING THE LOCALS: This week's charts show we like the sounds coming from our own shores better than a lot of that imported rubbish that all sounds the same. Salmonella Dub's new album One Drop East has rumbled straight into No 1 on the album charts, followed in succession by chanteuse Hayley Westenra's Pure, Bic Runga's stayer Beautiful Collision and Elemeno P's Love And Disrespect.
On the singles side of things, Scribe's Stand Up returns to the top spot, Mareko's eponymous song is in fourth place, Blindspott's Phlex sits at seven, and Elemeno P's Verona is 10th.
I DID IT MIME WAY: Dave McInroe Rowlands, New Zealand's No 1 air guitarist, today battles it out for the 2003 eighth Annual Air Guitar World Championships (AGWC) at the Oulu Music Video Festival in Finland. World leaders take note. Apparently, the ideology of AGWC is to promote world peace - and "all evil things disappear from the world whenever people play air guitar".
Doesn't mean they're not competitive though. Last year, after an extremely tight AGWC competition, Zac "Mr Magnet" Munro, a mild-mannered architect from London and reigning 2001 AGWC champion, won the seventh Annual AGWC from New Zealand's Toby "The Tobanator" Penaha. . But then Mr Magnet shocked all by announcing his permanent retirement from the competition. You can follow McInroe's progress in the AGWC live on the web from 10am via the AGWC link @ www.airguitaraustralia.com.
HEY JIMI: He's been dead 33 years but Jimi Hendrix has been named - again - by Rolling Stone magazine as the greatest guitarist in rock history. Pete Townshend, the Who guitarist, says in an interview with the magazine that Hendrix "made the electric guitar beautiful". He recalls he was so overwhelmed with emotion at one of the American's "profoundly powerful" concerts that he found himself holding hands with fellow musician Eric Clapton. Townshend himself was ranked 50th in the poll, drawn up by a panel of experts appointed by the magazine. Clapton, placed fourth, was the highest-rated British guitarist in the table.
Rolling Stone named Hendrix ahead of Duane Allman, while blues great BB King was placed at number three. Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, Chuck Berry, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Ry Cooder also made it into the top 10.
