Dorothy (Susan Lynch) has a boyfriend who is a junkie and a golfer. She pawns his golf clubs.
He throws her bra in boiling water, dyes her dog pink and steals her money, which she got from the golf clubs.
Dorothy leaves the house and
sees Petula (Rachel Weisz, who's made her way back from ancient Egypt to contemporary Scotland) being beaten up by Brian (Tom Mannion). Dorothy loses it. She slams Brian on the head with a pipe and the two women carry him, unconscious, to Dorothy's flat, where they bond over a joint while Brian dies in the bath.
Did I mention this is a comedy? Oh, okay. And that it's set in Glasgow and is another son ... okay, daughter of Trainspotting?
Turns out the dead man has a brother who is a rich bad guy. The women cut off the late Brian's finger and send it to his bro' with a ransom demand. A detective (Alex Norton) comes to investigate, gets in on the scheme and alters it with a few moves of his own. Meanwhile, the junkie boyfriend returns and one thing leads to another. You know how it goes in this genre.
