A US teenager has unearthed photos from Nirvana's first ever gig in 1987.
Maggie Poukkula, 19, posted a series of photos from the basement show to Twitter with the caption "Pictures of my dad and Kurt Cobain playing together back in the day."
Poukkula seemed unaware of the significance of the photos - until the fans swamped her feed.
Toolism One wrote: "These photos are from Nirvana's first ever concert in March/April 1987. Do you have any more??
Clearly stunned by the historical significance of the photo Poukkula replied: "I'm not sure. I was have to ask my dad,"
When one fan suggested the photos were fake, Poukkula speedily set him straight.
"Fake? Lmao ok tell me that when you find my last name (Poukkula) in Kurt Cobain's biography. Gtfo dude," Poukkula wrote.
Later she confirmed the photos are from the "mid 80s in a house they lived in."
Her dad is Tony Poukkula, who "went to high school with Kurt and played with him before he got big." He now plays guitar in Washington-based band Laytem.
The photos had been tucked away inside her father's copy of a Kurt Cobain biography.
There may be more to come, with Poukkula telling a friend "next time you come over to the apartment I have some other stuff I have to show you!"
