A Canadian reporter is filing a police complaint after an actor and comedian harassed him live on television.

CBC Toronto reporter Chris Glover was doing a live cross from a downtown Toronto comedy club when the actor and comedian Boyd Brooks approached him from behind.

During the live segment, actor/comedian Brooks approached Glover from behind before kissing and licking him.

Glover finishes the segment and hands back to the studio with the words, "things are getting a little awkward out here, so I'm going to pass it back to you."

According to CBC, Glover said he could sense Banks behind him and smelled alcohol on his breath.

"I could feel something on the back of my neck and on the back of my head … I didn't really know what it was," Glover said.

"Looking back, I knew that it was his tongue and he was licking me."

Boyd apologised to CBC for his behaviour.

"There is no excuse for my behaviour last night. I'm guilty of everything," he said.

"I am an idiot. I want to apologise to the standup community in Canada and of course the reporter, who was doing his job."

Banks has performed guest roles in TV shows such as Designated Survivor and The Expanse.
