Justin Timberlake has announced his first album in five years - but not everyone is getting behind the pop star's new image.
Timberlake revealed the date and title of his new album Man of the Woods in a video teaser, in which he is portrayed as a kind of country woodsman, running through cornfields and wearing a poncho.
"This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I've ever written, where I'm from – it's personal," says Timberlake in a voiceover.
The internet swiftly began to pick apart Timberlake's new image, with some joking that the singer was trying to emulate alternative folk artist Bon Iver.
Man of the Woods is due for release on February 2.
