So Rosie O'Donnell and Ivanka Trump walk into a bar ...
OK, actually we don't know whether it was a bar. But we do know that O'Donnell, established nemesis of Donald Trump, and Ivanka Trump, the poised and perfect daughter of the GOP presidential nominee, met randomly in New York City recently. And, instead of a punch line, something called civility ensued.
O'Donnell, a former talk-show queen who found herself back in the headlines last week when Trump name-checked her during the first presidential debate, tweeted Wednesday about the random run-in with Ivanka Trump:
"@IvankaTrump in a city of 8 million - we meet face 2 face - i thank u 4 listening - mother 2 mother - on this new years week - my best 2 u"
O'Donnell and The Donald are not friends. Their feud goes way back to 2006, when the comedian, then a co-host of ABC's "The View," spoke candidly about how much she did not "enjoy him." The real estate mogul fired back by calling O'Donnell names, specifically "fat pig" and "loser." Basically, there's no love lost between the two New Yorkers.
So it stands to reason that a chance encounter between Trump's biggest fan (Ivanka) and his most famous foe (O'Donnell) would not go so well. "Awwwkward" is the word that comes to mind. But as we know from Ivanka Trump's much-touted friendship with Chelsea Clinton, she doesn't do messy public outbursts or mudslinging.

According to O'Donnell, the younger Trump listened to whatever the comedian had to say. (We're guessing it wasn't too complimentary toward the Republican candidate). The two women apparently related to each other as mothers.
For now, Ivanka has not responded to O'Donnell's social media praise, and neither has her father.
