Marc Ellis leaving MoreFM Breakfast show

Marc Ellis today announced on the MoreFM Breakfast show he hosts with Hayley Holt and Stu Tolan that he will be leaving the station to spend more time with his young family.

"After two years with More the time has come for me to enjoy more time with my little family," he said.

"Sofia and Tomas are starting to remember things now, so I want them enjoying Daddy at home in the morning and full of energy. Waking up at 5.15am and working a full day after the show is pretty intense".

Ellis said he would miss the MoreFM team and the listeners who tune in each day.

"I have loved learning a new industry, meeting new people and hanging out with Stu and Hayley on a daily basis - there are very few people you want to see when you are still half asleep.

"It is a hard-earned privilege to be part of someone's morning routine and the relationship with the listeners is something I will also miss. It's honest, immediate and pretty intimate on occasion.

"MoreFM has a great team - it's a great job and there will be no shortage of talented people lining up. I'll be tuning in once the kids wake me up."

MediaWorks Radio spokesman Andrew Szusterman said Ellis was a "very talented broadcaster and a great bloke".

"We'll miss Marc, but he's leaving for the best possible reasons and we wish him well."

Ellis' last day on air will be October 30.
