Radio Hauraki breakfast host and comedian Jeremy Wells has been slapped with a "terrifying" fine for an overdue kids' book.
Wells posted a picture to his Instagram of a letter from Auckland Libraries calling for urgent payment of $7,100,105.20.
He captioned the post "Just got a summary of outstanding charges from Auckland Libraries...Did I buy the entire library?" #terrifying #bill #expensivebooks #ngataniwhaerua #sevenmilliondollars?
If unpaid within a fortnight the bill would be referred to a debt collection agency, the letter said.

Fairfax reported that the letter was sent in May due to a system error and had been rectified.
Auckland Libraries head of content Catherine Leonard said the book in question was from the children's section and would not have incurred any overdue fees.
