"I think my average wait for a lift was about 10 minutes, several cars pulled up at the same time, I tell you that wouldn't happen in England."
Spencer said he can therefore understand why the average home in New Zealand is going for around $650,000.
"It's a beautiful place and lots of people want to live there."
He said those looking to break into the market for the first time should look for a property that can be improved on and has an "opportunity to add value".
"Buy a property that you can improve or one in an area that will improve in the time that you live there," he said.
Allsopp meanwhile hasn't ventured down under yet but is doing her best to change that.
"We're really keen to come and we keep on trying to work it out because outside of the UK it's probably where the shows are most popular."
Allsopp believes first home buyers should always try to find a house that has longevity.
"Don't think about where your favourite bars and restaurants are because in five years time that might not be a factor in your life."
