The Kaiser Chiefs have sold millions of records - and say the Arctic Monkeys shouldn't slag them off for doing so.
KEY POINTS:
Kaiser Chiefs lead singer Ricky Wilson has hit out at the Arctic Monkeys for complaining about fame.
The I Predict A Riot singer thinks the Arctic Monkeys - who once said they would quit music if they were ever compared to the Kaiser Chiefs - should never havesigned a record deal if they wanted to continue making music in peace.
Ricky said: "If you just want to do it for yourself, then don't sign a record deal.
"Play in a coffee shop on the corner - for coffee. And then f*** off.
"Don't slag us off for selling millions of records when it's exactly what you want to be doing. And if you think you're going to get there by saying you don't want to do it, it's a joke. You've got to really want it."
Ricky's bandmate Nick Hodgson agrees.
The drummer said: "Ambition's a dirty word, but everyone's got it. I think the stupid thing is people pretend they don't have any ambitions because they think that's cooler. As soon as they sell a few records, they soon change their tune."
