The tweet has been retweeted more than 8000 times and liked nearly 50,000 times in just a few hours, with hundreds of people responding with how much they appreciated knowing that story of kindness.
"It's nice to be cool. But it's cooler to be nice," someone replied.
"Goes to show you can have all the success in the world just as Keith did but at the end of the day being remembered as a kind human being is an even greater legacy," someone else said.
"My Dad did the licensing at the Brixton Academy back in the day and when The Prodigy played there, he said that Keith was one of the nicest, politest artists he'd ever met. Such desperately sad news today," another person said.
Even people who aren't fans of Blunt's music pointed out how nice his eulogy was.
"As much as I'm an admirer of Noel, Weller's and Damon's music the one thing all 3 of them are guilty of is lacking class and humility. You've always had it in spades James and I say that as someone who isn't necessarily a fan of your songs," a Twitter user replied.
People also pointed out the "first class passive aggression" of actually tagging Noel Gallagher, Damon Albarn and Paul Weller in the tweet pointing out their bad manners.
