Iggy Pop is to play a special gig in aid of The Children's Society. The Godfather of Punk is giving his time for free.
He offered to perform after the charity used him as inspiration for a garden at the Chelsea Flower Show. The prize-winning design featured arcs of water which burst over the garden in time to his hit Lust For Life.
Pop and his band The Stooges will headline the Rock The House Live gig in the grounds of Harewood House in Leeds on August 31.
Pop said: "I'm getting a big kick out of making music for The Children's Society. All kids deserve a good childhood."
