Demi Moore says the age gap between her and husband Ashton Kutcher never worried her.
The Hollywood star - who, at 45, is 15 years older than Kutcher - tells Harper's Bazaar in a new interview she can't understand why people were so shocked by their romance.
"People made such a fuss about my relationship with Ashton. You would have thought they had never seen it before. Age wasn't what I was thinking about, but to the rest of the world it was a very big deal."
Kutcher also revealed it wasn't easy getting used to the fact Moore's ex-husband Bruce Willis was still a part of her life.
The 30-year-old actor says, "I just had to get over my ego, which was screaming, 'This guy used to sleep with your woman.' And I listened instead to the little voice inside that was whispering, 'This guy loves and cares about your woman.'"
"Once I did that, it was a cakewalk."
Kutcher makes sure he spends as much time as possible with Moore when he is not working.
"I have a rule for myself when I am not on location shooting - that I am home for dinner for six o'clock every night. I think that's very important and I stick to it."
Moore and Kutcher first began dating in 2003 and married at Los Angeles' Kabbalah Centre in 2005.
The Striptease actress has three daughters with her ex-husband Willis - Rumer, 19, Scout LaRue, 16 and 14-year-old Tallulah Belle.
Moore admits in the interview she sometimes has moments of anxiety about ageing, but has learned to get past it.
"Look, I would be lying if I said I don't have moments of panic when I look in the mirror and see things creeping in that weren't there before," she says.
"But now I stop, and instead of focusing on my flaws, I think about all that I have in my life. I have a wonderful marriage, I have three wonderful daughters, I have an incredible extended family, and I have loving, wonderful friends."
As a result, she says, "when I look back in the mirror, the reflection I see isn't so bad, because I'm seeing the beauty of my whole being and my whole life."
