There they were, eating breakfast side-by-side, cuddling on the footpath, and cosying up for the camera.
The day after Fleur Verhoeven was crowned the winner of The Bachelor NZ, she and Mauger looked tired, a little apprehensive but content during an interview with the Herald at an inner-city cafe.
Justthe next day, they'd split, with a shocked and tearful Verhoeven confirming to TV3's Story she'd been dumped by Mauger.
Fleur Verhoeven from the Bachelor TV series revealed on Story that she had been dumped by Jorden Mauger.
"Jordan came to visit me and he pretty much explained how he is feeling and that he has decided that his feelings aren't mutual. He has decided he wants to leave it," she told Story.
In a pre-finale interview with the Herald, Mauger admitted he hadn't seen the winner since filming the finale. When asked if they were still together, he paused and said awkwardly: "'Together' is a funny word."
2. Re-shoot rumours circulate
The Herald learns of rumours that Mauger had asked to reshoot the finale, with a different ending. However, these were firmly denied by Mediaworks.

3. Fleur struts her stuff solo
Just minutes after the finale for The Bachelor NZ screened for a room full of media on Monday night, Verhoeven fronted a press conference all on her own. This was their time to shine. Where was her man?
4. They wouldn't kiss for the camera
During a Tuesday morning interview with the Herald, Mauger refused to kiss his new girlfriend on the cheek, deeming it "too cheesy". Instead, his arm was draped over her shoulder, his hand dangling loose, like a wet glove.
5. Lack of chemistry
When Naz arrived on stage during Tuesday night's Women Tell All special, sparks flew between her and Mauger. Their extended hug got so uncomfortable, the rest of the cast were seen squirming and looking away. But when Verhoeven arrived on stage, things quickly grew uncomfortable.
