A 16-year-old Christchurch boy was arrested this morning after a man and woman were stabbed in Kaikoura, southwest of Blenheim.
The pair, both 22, had been treated and released from hospital, Constable Dean Schroder of the Kaikoura police said.
The incident happened at 1.30am on Beach Rd.
It
was alleged the 16-year-old was assaulted earlier inside Kaikoura's Strawberry Tree Bar and he returned to the area with a knife, Mr Schroder said.
He was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Witnesses were being talked to and further charges could be laid as a result, Mr Schroder said.
