Levi Strauss' only Australian-owned and -operated factory is to close, with the loss of 86 jobs.
The sewing and finishing factory in north Adelaide will shut on November 26, the company said.
Operations would be moved overseas where labour costs were lower. The closure follows the announcement by clothing retailer Fletcher Jones that it will end its Australian manufacturing within two months, at a cost of 60 jobs in Victoria and South Australia.
