People have been rushing into a grocery store in Porirua hoping they are the lucky winner of last night's $15 million Lotto Powerball.
But the owner of Eastside Four Square and Lotto in Porirua East, north of wellington, said the holder of the winning ticket is yet to come in.
"There have been a few people who thought they might be the winner, but they're not," Dipak Dubariya said.
"But they are all happy one of the locals has won.
"We're really delighted that someone from our local community has won such a big amount, and it was from our shop.
"It's a win-win, for the community and for us."
He said it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for whoever won the ticket.
"It will change their life."
The ticket holder made history by becoming the first player to win the Powerball jackpot on a ticket sold in Porirua.
The winning ticket is made up of $15 million from Powerball First Division and $250,000 from Lotto First Division. This is the 12th time this year that the Powerball jackpot has been won.
Mr Dubariya said he is looking forward to whoever did win, coming in.
Lotto has advised anyone who bought their ticket from the store to write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately.
Three lucky Lotto players are also celebrating after each winning $250,000 with Lotto First Division. One of those winning tickets was also sold at Eastside Four Square and Lotto in Porirua East and the other two were sold at Corner Cardz N Magz in Whangarei and Pak'nSave Clarence St in Hamilton.
Meanwhile, Strike Four was not struck yesterday and has rolled over to Saturday's draw where it will be $600,000.
