Rose Keddell, a Black Sticks hockey player, Olympian and student, loves to make the most of her limited downtime.
It's all about sun and sand for Rose who grew up in Tauranga "so any excuse to get to the beach and I'm there", she says.
1. Coffee at Catroux
I'd start the day at my number-one cafe, Catroux, in Westmere. It has so many wholesome options, and some not so healthy ones if it's been a long week.
My favourite option would be the Fitness Bowl, and the barista, Rodney, is the best in the business.
2. Matakana Farmers Markets
If I took the Ford Focus out on a Saturday, I would head up to the Matakana Markets.
They have a great range of gourmet treats, so I'd stock up on some supplies for my next destination.
Eating good food is up there with my favourite pastimes, so I'd make sure I was prepared.
3. Leigh Sawmill
Leigh Sawmill is always a great spot for a pizza and a beverage, especially if there's live music playing.
4. Tawharanui Beach
Next I'd head to the beach at Tawharanui Open Sanctuary. I was recently introduced to this spot and was blown away by its beauty.
At some point I need to get moving so this is where I'd lace up my running shoes and run along the beach or around the peninsula, followed by a swim and an afternoon picnic.
Car Karaoke
By this point I would say it'd be time to venture home so I would hook up Spotify using AppLink in the Focus and hit the road.
My music taste changes daily but at the moment I am listening to Miguel and Gary Clark Jr. Drake would definitely feature too, as he's great to mumble along to on a road trip.
