Widow of British military attache to face accused killers

The wife of a British diplomat murdered by urban guerrillas in Athens two years ago plans to return to Greece to face her husband's accused killers.

Greek police charged two men yesterday with the drive-by shooting of British military attache Stephen Saunders, the last of 23 killings carried out in a 27-year assassination spree by the November 17 group.

Heather Saunders said she would attend the trial.

Her husband's murder raised questions about whether Greece could provide a secure environment for the Olympics in 2004. But police finally began to unravel the group three weeks ago after a bomb explosion.
