Victorian policemen can now grow their hair as long as women's - as long as it's worn in a bun.
The decision to change police hair policy came after the issue was raised by a hirsute male constable, who now wears his hair in a bun tucked under his cap.
Underthe new policy, hair must not extend below the top of the shirt collar, be worn in a ponytail or similar style or be extreme in style or colour. MP Russell Savage, a former policeman, described the new policy as "equal opportunity gone mad".
