Vauxhall car most likely to be stolen

A plain Jane family sedan from the 1980s was named yesterday as the car most likely to be stolen in Britain.

There's a one in 10 chance of a humble 1986 Vauxhall Belmont falling prey to thieves, according to the annual Car Theft Index compiled by the British Government.

Overall, 314,749 cars were stolen last year in Britain, a drop of 7.9 per cent on the year before.
