Ulster loyalist shot

Leading Ulster loyalist John Gregg and a second man have been gunned down in an apparent ambush in the docks area of Belfast.

Gregg, of the Ulster Defence Association, was shot in a taxi as he returned from the Glasgow Rangers soccer match in Scotland.

Three other men with him were wounded.

The shooting is believed to be linked to the bitter fall-out between the mainstream UDA and its former members from the Shankill Road's C company, led by Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair.

Gregg was targeted twice last month by supporters of Adair.
