Tornado strikes Colorado Springs

A tornado swept through a community near Colorado Springs, damaging mobile homes and buildings and injuring at least 17 people.

Karen Krause said she saw the storm from the doorway of her trailer in Ellicott, about 27km from Colorado Springs.

"It busted windows out of my husband's truck, 20ft from the house," she said.

The tornado also ripped the roof from a school about 150m away.
