A British scientist, known as the Safeway poisoner, who tried to poison his wife and cover his tracks by spiking products in a supermarket is lecturing students on ethics.
Paul Agutter has been employed on a part-time basis by the University of Manchester. The 57-year-old, from Athelstaneford, East Lothian, was releasedfrom jail in 2002, after serving seven years of a 12-year sentence for attempted murder. A university spokesman said: "He was contracted to teach philosophy and medical ethics a couple of months ago. We took up his references and he was appointed to the post."
