Palm Beach reef rage

Surf rage became reef rage on the Gold Coast today.

More than 1000 surfers, lifesavers, politicians and residents rallied on the sand at Palm Beach to protest against a series of proposed artificial reefs they claim will turn a surfing paradise into one of the world's worst wave breaks.

Gold Coast City Council plans to build three large sandbag reefs 350m offshore to protect against cyclone erosion.
