A new poll has revealed the most popular member of the First Family, with First Lady Melania Trump coming out on top — with a 48 per cent approval rating.
In the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, Mrs Trump ranks as more popular than her husband, US President Donald Trump, and also more popular than First Daughter Ivanka.
While first ladies are frequently liked more than their presidential husbands, Mrs Trump is a little less popular than Mrs Obama was one year into her husband's presidency, reports News.com.au.
At the start of the Trump presidency, Mrs Trump and the president's daughter Ivanka were equally popular, each with a 44 per cent approval rating.
But today, Americans are as likely to have a negative view of the First Daughter as a positive one — 41 per cent favourable and 42 per cent unfavourable.
In February last year, opinion of the president's two adult sons was divided, with about as many holding a positive as a negative opinion of each of them.
However, today, evaluations of Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump are clearly negative — 36 and 32 per cent.
Perhaps surprisingly the family member who is most on the nose with the American public is Ivanka Trump's quiet and reserved husband, Jared Kushner, who has an approval rating of only 25 per cent, unchanged from last year.
So where does the president himself rank in this family poll?
Donald Trump is hanging on to his 43 per cent approval rating, which is also unchanged since last year, making him the second most popular member of the Trump family — after his wife Melania.
