BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) The mayor of Argentina's capital wants to name a new subway stop after Pope Francis.
The problem is that Buenos Aires law requires waiting 10 years after a person's death before naming a public space after them.
The pope grew up in the city's Flores neighborhood, and that's where Mayor Mauricio Macri said Friday the new station should be named "Papa Francisco."
Opposition lawmaker Gabriela Cerruti tweeted that Macri can put a statue of the pope in his office if he wants, but law doesn't allow naming a subway stop after a living person. "You can't be more papist than the pope," she wrote.
