A man has killed four people and injured 29 after driving a car through Melbourne's Bourke Street mall.
• Four dead, including a 10-year-old child, after driver deliberately mows down pedestrians in famous shopping area; • 29 people injured - 6 critically including a three-month-old baby who is in surgery; • Driver has been arrested after being shot in the arm by officers - he has a history of mental health and drug issues and is well-known to police; • Man linked to stabbing in the early hours of this morning in Melbourne suburb of Windsor - and the kidnapping of a woman
BEFORE THE INCIDENT
- Police say the man was involved in a stabbing incident in Windsor on Friday morning. - Man then captured on footage doing donuts and burn outs outside Flinders Street Station in a stolen maroon Holden Commodore. - Man seen yelling out his car window at pedestrians.
- Car turned onto Swanston Street at around 1:45pm and turned left into the busy Bourke St pedestrian mall. - It then drove deliberately into pedestrians as it sped along the mall, with people leaping out of the way and running for their lives. - Car crossed over Elizabeth St and mounted the curb, continuing along the footpath hitting more people. - Man apprehended near the corner of Bourke and William Streets. Seen cuffed on the ground, shirtless and wearing a pair of red underwear.
INJURIES AND FATALITIES
- 29 people injured, including four children who were taken to the Royal Children's Hospital. - Of those 29, six are critical. - Four people killed, including a child.
• The RMH made capacity to respond to this incident quickly and effectively, and are managing these cases. • Of the 11 patients, we have three (3) critical, two (2) serious, and six (6) stable.

• 2 critical but stable • 2 serious • 3 stable

• 3 women in their 30s • 2 men in their 40s • A 31-year-old man • All are stable with severe injuries
